Typical 17th century farmhouse in the heart of historic Anjou. We believe that the environment in which we live is very important. Since buying our ancient farm in 1998 we have been concerned to restore it using the natural materials our predecessors would have used at the time of building - terracotta, slate, Loire sand, douglas pine, chestnut for the parquet and whitewash for the walls. We have also incorporated new natural materials such as hemp and cotton for the insulation, and used non-toxic paint for the decoration. The area is a haven of quiet within easy reach of the many chateaux of the Loire Valley, and also the vineyards of renowned Loire wines such as Saumur Champigny.
